For Europe Zadig`s drilling costs are correct. But you cannot be successsful when you apply the european oilfield standard and practice for CBM. The problem is in Europe we do not have these drilling contractors who are used to the cheap drilling as in Australia. In Australia there are drilling contractors who do cheap drilling for water well or drill cheap wells for mining companies. When you adapt this drilling method for CBM wells I beliefe you can econoically drill CBM wells in France too.But here in EU (and that`s my impression) they use these expensive oil and gas rigs and try to adapt them for CBM

Moreover as Zadig mentioned: In crowed Europe you have to convince many people (including hundreds of neighbours who do not understand drilling or CBM and are not interested in more noise and pollution)before you can start drilling ..

And the water that has to be produced before you get desorption pressure. No idea where you can leave it or you have extra cost for processing and cleaning without the power of the Australian sun for evaporation.
