    I think we both agree that the current electric vehicle revolution is certainly going to change the future of transportation.
    One thing that I stated was that I felt that fuel-cell vehicles (FCV’s) will eventually replace electric vehicles (EV’s). This is not actually what I wanted to say (althoughit is still a possibility). What I really meant to say was that fuel-cells will replace traditional forms of “fossil-fuel”power generation. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the fuel-cells have to be actually housed in cars, trucks, buses, trains, ships, etc.

    Currently FCV’s are nowhere near as energy efficient as EV’s. They also have the disadvantage ofhaving to carry the Hydrogen around in a bulky fuel tank. For both these reasons, I believe that the answer is to drastically increase the performance of the Lithium-Ion battery, while at the same time reducing their weight, and at the same time making them almost totally recyclable.

    I believe that it may make far more sense to have the fuel-cells as power stations, for example at Shellservice stations, to provide the electricity to recharge the EV’s. If the Hydrogen could be produced on-site, this would avoid having to deliver the Hydrogen (Hydrogen is difficult to transport, natural gas is easier, and at least in Germany there is a good supply grid already there). It would be great if EDE could set up local modular plants, where CNT’s are produced and harvested and the Hydrogen is used to power the local "fuel-cell" power station, which in turn produces the electricity so the drivers can recharge their EV’s. Having said all this, this is may not be a practical solution.

    Considering that EDE is a manufacturer of Hydrogen, and that they also have a CNT based technology for increasing the performance of Lithium-Ion batteries, and all this without producing any greenhouse gases, perhaps there is a way of linking this all together. Perhaps EDE could enter into a JV with a company that builds stationary fuel cells that produce electricity?
