I am addicted the purposeful rumble of an accelerating V8, unfortunately it is the sound of a dying dinosaur and will soon be consigned to history. I don't agree with the fake soundtracks either although they may be useful in masking tyre roar, wind noise and other NVH that the engineers can't design out.

Regenerative braking is an essential part of the overall efficiency of an EV (and hybrid) to recycle the kinetic energy of a moving vehicle as it slows down. Conventional brakes are still required for emergency stops and hill holding but with normal driving they will be rarely used which further lowers the maintenance requirement of an EV.
