Was pleased to read that SDI has received GMP approval from Brazil.
However I would very much like more guidance on how much impact this could have on both the Australian direct export market and/or the Brazilian arm of the business.
A question for the upcoming AGM I guess.
With the Brazilian business still running at a loss of $1.064M for the 2013 FY and the company having a NPAT of $4.690M this operation has been an enormous drag and few answers have been given as to the plan to stop the bleeding. Is the GMP approval the key to unlocking profits from Latin America?
No one could ever accuse the management team at SDI of trying to directly impact the share price through rhetoric but I do think a little more detail on the impact of this approval is warranted to keep share holders "fully informed".
This from the Ann Report; "The introduction of cheaper product into the Brazilian market from SDI’s offshore packing facility is now starting to show positive results. This will be further strengthened when new products are released into the market once SDI has received its GMP approval by the Brazilian regulatory authorities, and the recent silver price reduction starts to flow through its cost of inventory".
Two things from that. First- further strengthening of Brazilian position "once SDI has received its GMP approval" (Tick). Second- silver price reductions will show up in 2014 FY (Tick).
For a man who just tells it how it is in annual reports, Dr Jeffery Cheetham 'sounded' dead-set excited in the ann of GMP approval. Hard to know whether his enthusiasm just reflected how pleased he was with the teams work to gain the approval or how exciting it was for the companies financial future due to the approval or a bit of both.
Founder and Managing Director Mr Jeffery Cheetham stated, 'even though SDI has been awarded many accreditations such as, CE, FDA, TGA etc. for other
markets, the ANVISA GMP accreditation which has taken a considerable amount of time and effort to obtain, is a real achievement by the Company’s management and employees".
I am also hoping we can return to interm dividends this FY.
