Grain growers like Tony Flanery at Galong are experiencing similar extensive losses.
"It is certainly the worst I have ever seen and the worst I have heard about," Galong grain grower Tony Flanery said.
"My father's in his mid-70s, no-one has seen a frost this severe."
Mr Flanery says many farmers in the Harden, Boorowa District, Young, Cootamundra areas have lost 30 per cent of their crops, while in Tamora and Greenthorpe some fields have been completely wiped out.
He manages more than 5,500 acres of mixed farms between Boorowa and Harden, about 1.5 hours drive north-west of Canberra.
He says extreme frosts froze the seeds and stems of more than 2,000 acres of canola and wheat.
"To get stem frosting is a very severe occurrence and that is what has occurred in the Boorowa District," Mr Flanery said.
