This is of interest to all that are following the disruptive path of the lithium ion battery story. All of the raw materials namely lithium, graphite & cobalt needed for large scale battery supply are set to boom as the market explodes. Cobalt is the rarest of the 3 because the supply is under pressure , this Glencore deal makes that even harder for other auto makers to secure longterm supply of cobalt. They will have to be negotiating offtake agreement very soon to be ready for the mass production boom beginning around 2019.
