I don’t believe BCB intends to ever mine Isaac River. I also don’t think it’s useful to calculate the economics of extracting coal from any future mine as a stand-alone operation.

The Isaac River purchase seems consistent with the Company’s preferred approach to date: acquiring small, under-explored tenements in highly-prospective areas and in proximity to major and well-established mining projects and existing infrastructure.

In my opinion, the Company needs to do a better job of communicating the ‘strategic’ nature of these acquisitions and describing in clearer terms what the ‘significant optionality’ may mean in practice. There’s too much subtlety in their use of language to date.
