Yeah, but their costs of production average A$38 to $41/t. They sell for around $43 to $44/t.
Lets say that in 2014 those costs are still roughly the same, maybe plus 10 to 15% because of extra transport costs, BUT... in 2014, if you could reorient the majority of your production from domestic government contracts to export markets, you would realise US$70 to US$80/t - your profit margins wouldn't average A$4/t, they would be around A$32 to A$40/t - >70% increase in profitability.
That is the main game - and I haven't seen this written anywhere... Meat - thats what I am talking about.
