In regards to those contracts, I think the majority have a 10-year rolling reset. The are restrictive though. From memory, you are only allowed annual inflation rate increases, with a 10 to 15% price increase or decrease at the beginning of the new contract. However, be absolutely very clear on this next point, the company is under no obligation to continue to renew those contracts !!!
Why do you think the NSW government was trying to sell the coal fired power-stations ??? Imagine the price of electricity when one has to pay benchmark thermal coal prices.
Then you have the federal Labor government, see what is happening in the Latrobe Valley utility providers. Victoria is going to be in serious trouble into the future, for lack of power within the next two or three years.
