A little of topic here but I can see this technology being a great fit with a new technology for coal power generation. Being developed by Man Turbo & Diesel but supported by a plethora of multi-nationals and instigated by CSIRO it is a Direct Injection Carbon Engine, or DICE, and is basically just a modified large diesel engine. Being an internal combustion engine, thermal efficiencies are over 50% compared to about 35% for traditional coal steam boilers.
Importantly for NCF, the DICE are a much easier fit to capturing the CO2 stream from exhaust gases, unlike the big flue stacks of typical coal fired power plants. There would also be a ready heat source available, in these respects DICE maybe similiar to steel plants. Currently the DICE is being developed for commercial rollout in a few years time and is integral to the Liberals Direct Action policy as it will about halve the emissions from coal fired electricity. Concurrently with developing a commercial DICE research is being carried out by Man Turbo & Diesel for a bolt on carbon capture unit for the DICE. IMO the NCF tech would be leading the race to solve the issue of CO2 emissions from coal power plants, otherwise a different tech would have won the award.
