I have a short-term memory and forget if this was previously raised in the ALC threads… Anyways. This is a further investigation from the Brisbane Times article I linked the other day. In December 2018, The Queensland Audit Office (QAO) released a report into Queensland Health’s (QH) efforts to digitise hospitals through a single e-health record (the project has been running in excess of a decade and has had cost blow-outs of $250 million. Overall, the report reads well and provides some good insight into E-health in Queensland. Can definitely see opportunities for ALC into the future. Specifically, reading through the recommendations provided by the QAO and the responses from QH I can see an opportunity for ALC to capitalise with MIYA.
One could also conclude that the November announcement from ALC about the NexGate Provider Registry could be a broader element of the QH reform which is referred to within the report.
