Well it took me a while because I was trying to take advantage of the moving exchange rate. I tested it with a 500 GBP transfer from a foreign currency account located in Australia. The bank charged me 10 pounds to transfer to a bank in the UK where CF hosts all their accounts. You have to set the account up in advance but it is very easy. The CF bank charged me a further 15 pounds to receive the funds from a foreign banks (I wasn't aware that was going to happen - the money does not go to CF.) So my 510 pounds is now 485 pounds.
I transferred the 485 back to my Australian account at a very competitive rate of 2.19. CH took $4. It arrived the next day.
My circumstances are probably different from most. I get paid in GBP and get it deposited to an Australian FC account. It is the bank charges backwards and forwards that get you and in future I will get it deposited direct to the CF account to avoid all that.
Conclusion: Very easy to use. Very competitive rate. Quick transfer.
