Well here we sit with tenements very close to the BHP intersections recently ann in the gawler craton. GBG has Cu mineralisation at Mt Gunson associated with younger sediments and volcanics that rest unconformably on the basement to which the Olympic Dams of the world are hosted.

I wonder what GBG have been doing about such prospectivity, ie the IOCG type in their basement rocks, not just their upper level younger copper mineralisation.

i wonder if the thought process has gone along the lines of - is the younger copper mineralisation at Mt Gunson etc etc a result of the younger hydrothermal system sourcing older copper enriched basement??? - i wonder?? - is there merit in following up this possibility - what old data do they have - there must have been some expl wrt IOCG targets in their tenements .

This is cheap exploration and may attract a biggen Co into a seperate JV to assess just the IOCG potential of their tenements

yes they may have the odd contingent liability lurking - but they have to move forward and nothing like a serious go at finding a elephant copper deposit to exactly that - move forward.
