As great it is to be reading (and posting articles) about gas demand outstripping supply, and the upside as commented on by the Parliamentary Committee on Energy and Minerals, what is needed is action.
The Tanzanian' government need to pull their finger out and grant producer status for the Kiliwani North gas field so that the pipeline can be built from the well head to the Songas plant so that commercialisation can commence.
Tanzania is reported to have a population of 40 million and only 10% are linked into the electricity grid!
With the constant supply problems over the last 3 or so years it is no wonder that supplying gas direct to industry is more lucrative than to power producers. Industry wants certainty of supply and is prepared to pay a premium for it.
