RIV now has 2 massive steel mills as major shareholders and one looks ready to increase their holding via Talbots remaining share holding. Will they keep going or stop is any ones guess.
We are about to see FLX disappear off the board.
MCC is tied up with steel majors.
RIV has more coal than all of them put together and its 'Bowen Basin' quality.
Coking coal fundamentals looking very strong with expectations of some $200 ton. [Southern cross latest research note].
The profitability of this mining project is far higher than that off iron ore stocks since its a similar mining operation with a much higher spot price per tonne.
Coking coal is in limited supply well into the future and these take overs are telling you the story.
RIV has seriously lagged the other major coal stocks as people have sat back on the infrastructure issues. 2 global steel mills do not agree with that at all.
Talbot has leases up the road and plans to pour money into his own projects, so he is still in the area and coal focused.
$300m in cash.
RIV just looks like an outstanding play coming into 2010 imo.
please dyor.
