Yes Gary - it is becoming obvious the power grid will need to be drastically revamped or redesigned in order to address the forecasted massive shortfall of overnight charging of EV cars. Energy is becoming an issue because even with just wind and solar energy alone they only provide approx 2-4% of the total energy demand in Australia today. Coal / gas provides the balance of energy needs. We need nuclear energy now! It is clean and super efficient with zero carbon emissions.

The key would be to store any excess energy ( that could be produced from the gamut of energy sources including wind, solar, nuclear, coal and gas) from the grid into new emerging vanadium redox flow batteries on the network.

So yes we need lithium for tomorrow’s ev cars and vanadium/uranium for future grid battery power. That’s why I am invested in GLN (for lithium brines) and AEE (for uranium and vanadium). LYC (world’s largest rare earths NdPr producer outside of China) is another Aussie miner that needs watching. Tesla and Japanese car manufacturers use NdPr rare earths for electric motors.
