The 900 series of Cat equipment are loaders not excavators , I see what you are achieving using a hoist both to get the height that can be lifted to and to bring the load back closer to the front wheels to reduce the machine tipping forward compared with using a front end loader .
The Mt Maunganui port in NZ has log loaders that lift 40 tons of logs they look to be a 3 wheel rigid body (not articulated ) set up with the rear single wheel steering
