When it comes to exploration stocks it really isn't a good analogy. Try this, you own a shop which is not doing very well as it is out by itself, then two or three others open nearby and business picks up, you see the original shop hasn't changed at all but its location has improved. Geology is very much like this, if somebody finds something next door in a type of rock (think pegmatite) then the chances to find something of value improve, you don't have to believe it but that is why the smaller stocks in this area are moving.
