President Macri has made a statement that the country will impose a new temporary tax of 3 Pesos per US Dollar of export value on goods shipped internationally (other than agricultural exports, which will be taxed at 4 Peso per US Dollar), which is equivalent to approximately 7.9% based on current exchange rates. In the statement, it was noted the tax will only be in place through to the end of 2020"

2020-2021 is the timeline for some of the lithium producers start to go online / expansion in Argentina.
Very interesting period for LPI as the water restrictions use in chile and this tax put LPI in the best position.
I am looking for some off take agreements discussions with lpi down the track.
The economic returns for the miners in Argentina will become less attractive therefore they will face difficulties to raise money.
