well, the NY Plant was promoted in the media as govt supported, creating jobs, etc, which is a type of 'socialism', i.e., government concern about job creation for the working class voters, etc, similar to the Townsville Council who have asked for $103M similar to the Adani matter. this is a kind of "socialism". i doubt 100% free enterprise or capitalism includes taxpayer payments
as for the "defunct/unwanted capital equipment", i just read many posts that said the vendor was bankrupt. i apologise if i possibly used the "unwanted" inaccurately because MNS obviously wanted to pay $5M for the equipment (however the impression is there was not much of a bidding process if $5M was the best offer for $200M in equipment)
