As interest rates have fallen from records highs in the lates 80s of 20%, household debt has been steadily increasing from 1992 onwards to record levels now as lendings rates have fallen the past 25 years

House debt has been rising in line with GDP per person, not too sure if Australians house hold debt has been increasing GDP per person or just a natural increase in living standards or standard of living has been increasing in line with inflation.
