I was referring to the correlations (negative and positive) that gold has with a range of asset classes. So when I said 'the writing was on the wall' I was referring to moves happening in markets that are correlated with gold (yen, USTs, silver etc etc). Iron ore on the other hand is a completely different beast, it trades at the whim of Chinese speculators and the hot money flows that move from one asset to the next in China. Hope that clears it up.
Laughable probably a poor choice of words, my apologies.
