I don't think a 6 or 7% fall over two days counts as falling like a tonne of bricks. In my experience this kind of movement is very common and since I have 30 or so holdings it really doesn't make much of a difference in a portfolio sense.
Large caps (i.e. 2bn USD market cap or more) often move by 20 or 30% in one trading day on international markets. One day price movements on the ASX actually seem relatively benign in comparison.
To me the expression 'Falling like a tonne of bricks' could be used when a position moves against you by 50% in a day, rather than 6%.
