good point reaper,stockholders have to participate otherwise they risk seeing see most of their capital (the diff b/tw ave share cost purchased and where the share price settles at taking into a/c their number of shares purchased, & which at a 1:1 will be most likely be a steap fall)fanish into thin air if they 'dont' stump up the mooolah just to participate and maintain their % holding of the new total shares on issue.

the upside is that some might be in a position to ave down but some past cap raisings(not this yr) cases have netted a result in ave down to nothing when the thing goes belly up or seeing the sp trade below the issue price for which they might have partipated in.

the neagative i see for some here given the past years financial global rout is that some holders might not be in a position to take advantage of the steap discount if they view the offer at all appealing in which case the underwriter(s) will be forced to stump up the cash.
