If a low stocking rate eg 1 cow /10 acres becomes the standard for free range, then you could find farms like this in South Australia. Most of them feed their cows on feed pads over night. ( If you want to lose your salvation, try gathering 500 cows out of a 150 acre paddock at 4 am on a foggy frosty morning)
Just remember that cows don't like walking long distances in hot summer weather or in the winter on hard tracks when there feet are soft. Free range label really should prove an improved life for the cows and if the Brucknell farms ( which are no where the Apostles ) are the free range standard, consumers are being hoodwinked.
