Talga Resources Ltd will collaborate with Tata Steel UK Ltd to jointly explore opportunities across graphene supply, processing and development of graphene applications.

Initial work will see Talga supply graphene and graphitic carbon materials for use across applications in various Tata research programs including, anti-corrosion pigments and conductive, formable, barrier and thermal coatings.

The global paint and coatings market uses over 40 million tonnes of materials per annum and is forecast to reach 52 million tonnes by 2017 worth $186 billion. The bulk of this market is aimed to control corrosion which is estimated to cost US$2.2 trillion, or 3% of global GDP per annum.
