Happy New Year Everyone,

Following this thread last year was very helpful for me and I'm keen to hear about everyone's journey's this year further into EA development. Would be interested in any Skype sessions, although I'm not amongst the traders using EA Labs. So my focus is solely on programming with MQL5.

Took a few attempts to get this one going. This is actually close to just a MA crossover EA, very simple. Has the H4 and H1 charts talking to eachother and entry and exits are placed on H1. Will finish programming my risk management strategies into this because at the moment its just a fixed trade size which doesnt at all relate to the size of the account, and then I will start testing 2 of the variables.

At the moment I think I need to start doing 2 things differently:

1. Backtesting more relevant/recent periods (3yrs max).

2. Building EA's that trade frequently enough in that period to have a reasonably large sample of trades to determine profitability. 

Which is exactly what I was going for with this one. I think I might need to target these medium time frames for a while, at least until i build up a better understanding of the process from programming an idea to going live with it.
