Thanks Guys Maybe I'm trying to over complicate things! At this stage I think I might just backtest with the free data available on MT4 and if it looks promising then trial it for a few months on a demo account. Zestfulmocha the time frames I'll be targeting will be 15min or greater anyway so maybe it wont be such an issue. Let me know how you get on with the tick data as I would be interested to see if it makes much difference. I'm playing around with fxdreema at the moment (free trial) it seems to have quite a vast array of features. I can see an absolute beginner may have some difficulty with it.
