    Hi GlenY

Considering we may only get a few talking here, its a good topic to start.

I have had this discussion with other Forex traders over the years and many think this is a good yardstick.

3-4 hours every night for 18 months to 2 years if you are a very meticulous and disciplined Trader who started trading on multiple Demo Charts.

For the rest of us, 5 years.  There is no short cuts in this game.

My Breakthrough moment occurred after I changed from being a undisciplined trader to a reasonably disciplined trader ( I didn't say totally disciplined trader ).   I discovered that not following a tested trading strategy is the biggest reason most traders fail.  They have no idea if the current strategy works because they have never tested it probably. When they do trade a good strategy, they just can't follow the plan anyway.  Well that was my problem for the first two years.

Here is a image of a trader who has a plan to exit out the top of a paper bag - but he can't follow it
