Hi VVX, I use IC Markets and have been quite happy with them. They are always responsive when I call with an issue, so I am happy with their support.
IC Markets offer both MT4 (and MT5 although I don't use it) and Ctrader. I really like the Ctrader interface but I decided on MT4 due to my EA requirements.
I also have had an IG Markets account for a long time but have rarely used them in the last couple of years, and now that I am focusing on EA-based trading probably will use them even less since I need MT4 for my EA trading. IG have always been good service-wise as well. IG have their own proprietary platform which has an excellent user interface, but they also have Pro Real Time which I have also found very good, especially if using scripts for indicators or signals.
I find the spreads are typically better on IC than IG, but also IG mini's are typically $1/pip minimum which is roughly equivalent to 0.1 lot sizing on MT4/Ctrader and a lot of my position sizes are still < 0.1 lot on my MT4 EA trades so I find being able to start with the smaller position sizing build sizing in line with equity growth.
Imo the choice really comes down primarily to your trading needs (i.e. how you trade) and then next most important is cost (brokerage, spread, liquidity particularly at volatile times, etc).
Cheers, Sharks
