Does that mean you have 1 out of the two positions which loses? It sounds like you might be better served using an option to hedge the trade - you can get the same protection for a smaller cost. I don't know exactly how you're managing the trades but just throwing it out there. IG markets offer options (I don't understand them though, even though i've tried to)
