Well a bot follows a very strict process which you can determine. Key work being process - which has rules, criteria etc. What you mentioned - yes costly only if you allow those conditions to exist, and by that I mean you test and retest your code and make sure its running correctly. Of course the experience you have as a trader means you think about how to handle black swans which, affect manual traders regardless.
Humans are going the way of the dodo. Maybe 10-20 years before even the greatest human mind is far outclassed by AI. Dare I say it may even come to outclass the great TwoHandsRevy....mmm nah, will never happen.
