Also, look into stocks. They're a lot easier to learn. I tried for years to trade them short term and gave up, however, have had success for longer-term value investing. I recall a podcast called "chat with traders" once did an interview with an Aussie guy who trades equities with TA only so perhaps it's something you could look into given that you're already good with indices.
