    You're right, but IMO the fundamentals are easily predictable for oil as there's a limited number of large oil producers and exporters. Not to mention OPEC releases news and updates regularly so it's easy to stay on top of things. It's not often you have something drastic happen with oil. The info on stock levels and production are readily available and frequently updated.

    I'm not sure what it would be like intraday as I'm not an intraday trader, but I'd say crude has been responsible for ~60% of my profits over the past six months - she's been trending very nicely.
