Revy, the beauty of building an EA is it gives you the flexibility to test on a range of different markets very easily, and customising parameters for different markets in the process. Happy to test on some of the commodity markets once I get a woking EA.
lol Rick yes maybe I spend too much time in my office. The way I figure it, if I can build a solid portfolio of EA's generating a solid steady income, then I can spend more doing other stuff - maybe in 1 to 2 years time if I keep plugging away.
Understood about S&R. The challenge for me as an EA programmer with my L plates still on (just like my FX trading L plates) I suspect is that S&R levels or zones are an extra level of complexity programming-wise. Simple S&R levels like higher timeframe highs & lows I don't think are too difficult, so I can build those in, but support zones being more subjective to describe are harder to program. My first goal is to master the basics, so happy to try different models like the M5 scalping model because it gives me a starting base to work from and build better models from there. My philosophy is to build something that can make a consistent profit (even if small profit) and then make it more efficient and hence more profitable by continuous improvement.
I appreciate all the good work you post and hence I am happy to contribute in some way that may be of interest to the forum.
Cheers, Sharks
