Talking about Heikin Ashi, it reminds me of a most basic strategy which I still trade sometimes today.
It uses ABP Average price bars which is almost the same as HA.

Just 10 minutes a Day is all you need at New York Close, great if your travelling overseas.

Only trade the Day chart and add moving averages 1- Smoothed 5 high 2- Smoothed 5 low
Take the trade when the BODY of the candle passes through the high or low smoothed average and exit when the candle body changes colour.

Its been back tested by many traders with reasonable profits on major pairs. It can be improved if you only take the move when the Weekly Candle agrees. This is just one way to make HA candles useful.
