I remembered a photo of the loading of the train at Karara in an earlier GBG announcement and went looking for it. Found it in Dec 2012 Qrtly Report.
Last year GBG exported about 8.4m tonnes. This loader appears to be a Caterpillar 992K which has a bucket load capacity of 19 tonnes. So that is 442,000 trips a year for the loader if always fully loaded.
Or 1211 trips per day if working 24 hours a day.
How many loaders do we need?
Operating cost?
Is there a cheaper method?
