I've added Kirkland Lake Gold's current ore reserves for Macassa (previous numbers in the chart are from 2015) and numbers for their new Fosterville mine in Australia to the list (P.S. as mentioned in my originating post I don't know how accurate or well researched the numbers in the table below are, it was published in an article in July 2015, which link can be found in originating post on this thread).

Notice that Macassa ore reserves have grown from 1,330,000oz to 3,010,000oz after mining depletion in 2 years.

I have little doubt that UG resources at M1 could go much deeper. If the deposit goes to 2km the M1 UG deposit could rank in Macassa's league both in size and grade based on current reserves*. That is the blue sky in WAF that isn't being valued and won't be (properly) valued in a take-over.

Macassa and Forsterville are Kirkland's main mines. Currently Kirkland trades on TSX (KL.CA) for $25.82 and has a market cap of $5.45 billion. It had been as high as $30.94 before the gold price slide. Esh

    * Note I'm comparing indicated resources to proven and probable reserves, so it's still apples and oranges, but I want to give an indication of potential here so we don't get the wool pulled over our eyes by the Giant Squid and associates. If you thought Macquarie were enough to handle, now we have the Giant Squid and their bag of dirty tricks to deal with.
