The logic I have seen outlined is that IF a generous offer is made for the VRL's then the board would find it difficult not to reccomend it (without getting them selves into legal trouble) even if the Kirby-Burkes (VRC) don't accept. The only way the the VRC block can safely NOT reccomend a reasonable bid are A. VRC couterbids of B. another bidder is unearthed. Draw your own views as to how likely this is
This would trigger conersion of the VRLPAs to VRL, and change the landscape somewhat.
I agree with you, the current management has not treated the market well over the past 7 years. The martket can have nasty habit of returning the favour.
To whoever is behind the vote : you have my interest and support. I am in the top -100 holders of both VRL and VRLPA, and in my humble view VRC are the bottom of the list to retain control of VRL and would have to pay a substantial premium to a external party with entertainment industry experience.
This is my personnal view only as a VRL and VRLPA holder.
