"Hopefully I've given you some perspective too, and if not, at least a laugh!"
Yes, it is quite funny that you think investment houses would try to stand in the market with a nice big fat buy order to buy shares in a stock market whose average daily turnover averages less than $200k per day in value.
Especially since their trading procedures would limit them to 20% of average daily volume in order to avoid having an impact on the share price.
Would take a darn long time to build up any meaningful portfolio position that way, in an illiquid stock such as this (it will certainly be almost impossible to deal better than VWAP, which you'll find is how the performance of most share dealing departments is measured).
But, hey, maybe there are some who go about their business in such a ham-fisted, un-commercial fashion, but I've never come across them. In fact, in my experience, if a dealer at any place that I've worked did anything that dumb, he or she would find the year-end bonus to be very meager (that's if he or she didn't get the sack before bonus time).
But all power to you if you think you can consistently profit from the way you happen to see volume "lining up" on the buy and the sell side, and that there is any causality between that and the way a share trades.
As for:
"...don't be another godfather of investing/trading and tell people what works, what doesn't, and how they should trade...there's PLENTY of them around..."
I apologise for not responding to your "help to figure out" with the sort of answer that you deem appropriate.
Maybe when you ask for opinions in future you should add a caveat that calls for the answer to take on only the form that you would prefer. That way, you won't have smug know-it-alls like me wasting your time.
Alternatively, in order to avoid more godfather-esque proselytizing from me, you could simply invoke that handy ignore button.
