My core holding still pretty much set and forget. On the sidelines if I get a pitch that imo has 90% chance of making me money, I will swing. But the holding time is short as I have to be in and out by end of trading the next day. I am not using any more of my own funds after all and WBC will not give me the money for longer than that for free!
On what concrete criteria do I define the 90% success rate. I can not. It's more of a "vibe thing your honour".
Market was hammered overnight. Winter is coming indeed. And again I have some thoughts about completely exiting. Last time I had such thoughts was towards the end of last year, just before the big sell off. Didn't do anything then, doubt I will do anything different now. I think I might postpone reinvesting the dividends though, and maybe just save them, for winter. And there's a few of them coming these next few days. CBA, TLS, VLW, CAJ, D2O, BIN, PL8 all have rent due in the next week or so.
As for shorts, I generally don't like the idea of them in general, largely because they don't pay rent. But if the market tanks, BBOZ should do very well.
