At Flyers Creek, IFN wants to install bigger turbines, up from range 2.0-3.2 to 4.2Mw, with bigger rotors on taller towers.
The project's capacity increases even with fewer turbines (42 x 3.2 = 134Mw versus 38 x 4.2 = 160Mw)
The expected annual output rises to 430Gwh per year. I did not find an initial assessment of annual output. The new plans are considerably more productive as wind speeds are greater and more consistent with increased height and blade tip reach.
The initial application is dated December 2008, nearly a decade ago and IFN has held government approvals and the option to invest since at least 2014.
Once this change is approved, Flyers Creek MOD4 is ready to go. Have permits, IFN financial capacity and technicals finally aligned so Flyers Creek can be built?
