FlyBuys must be near the top of the list for VBA to get involved with.
As it stands, FlyBuys has seemingly been dead-in-the-water for a couple of years.
Nobody I know uses FlyBuys, whats the point?
However, Coles this week bought NAB out of their 50% interest**. It would seem that this now allows Coles, or more specifically the broader Wesfarmers powerhouse, an opportunity to tie themselves more closely with an airline to improve the "Fly" portion of the "FlyBuys" loyalty scheme offering.
Woolworth's would apparently seem to have had some success with "Everyday Rewards". I use it myself when I shop there because of the QAN FF points. Coles/Wesfarmers have rarely missed an opportunity to keep up with WOW but they have massively dropped the ball in this aspect.
In terms of Win-Win, Coles/Wesfarmers could offer FlyBuys branded Velocity points at Coles, Bunnings, BI-LO, Liquorland, Vintage Cellars ect ect, whilst VBA would be able to provide the lure of FF flights throughout the VBA, AirNZ, Etihad and potentially Delta networks.
I'd shop more at Coles for that! (although I'll never buy their $1 milk)
