Something that I don't think has received enough attention in this space: the WA state government has started floating the idea of a floor price on alcohol. The $1.50 per standard drink figure has been thrown around, as it is the price that FARE recommended to the NT gov and would be within the range of the floor prices imposed in most Canadian provinces. I don't know if it is by chance or genius, but if it goes ahead GRB have timed their "return to craft" (and move away from cheap drinks) strategy perfectly. Additionally, the stadium deal is going to get their beers and ciders onto the taste buds of drinkers who might otherwise scoff at a carton of craft brews. Now though, if you walk into your local bottle shop and a carton of the cheaper beers you normally drink are all of a sudden on $5 cheaper than a carton of those craft beers you had at the footy/cricket the other week and didn't half mind, you might just consider switching.

Considering the general strength of recent performance and exposure to some potentially friendly business conditions in WA, I think this is a decent punt.
