I disagree with you regarding your assessment of the Knowroaming Unlimited plan though.

For anyone who knows telco's well, there it always pays to remember there is 'no such thing as a free lunch'.

Whenever you see an unlimited plan, always head straight for the fair use policy! In Knowroaming's case:

"Generally, we place no limitations on accounts drawing less than 250 MB per day. However, we reserve the right to scale access speed for individual accounts down to 2G (128 kbps) speeds once the user’s daily usage significantly exceeds the average on our network or begins to impact the ability of other customers to access data services."

So, it is more like unlimited* *(unless you actually want unlimited). It is a highly dubious & unethical way of advertising, espeically given that you could purchase 1GB or 4 x the 'fair use' data from Flexiroam for less.

The problem with this sort of deceptive conduct is that someone who did wish to stream Netflix on hoilday would head straight to this plan. They would get 15 mins into their SD show, or 5 mins in if watching in HD, and would have already hit their 250MB.

If they were trading in Australia the ACCC would slap them with a fine quicker than you could say 'maple syrup'. It would surprise me if Canada didn't have similar advertising standard to us, but I have no idea.
