Inside the innersanctum, workings of our once great club.
After over 10 years loyal service I was sacked unlawfully by the Very ordinary Race Club after missing 1 day, what a joke.
Nobody from board to rostering and people and culture communicates with staff when they raise important issues about the workplace.
.Their signature multi million$ race is a great race, but please leave the selling of it to the experts not some has been hack with fake enthusiasm thats a touch sickening,its an archiac organisation which is reactive and who think they run racing when they do not,move with times..
They just dont really give a toss about anyone staff or customers and how to improve the customer experience,make things better and get repeat business,they dont care to take on board thoughts from ground staff at the coldface,the club thinks they know nothing, and in my time they lost alot customers and they dont care, they think others will come replace lost customers and they dont care customers will talk and might ruin its reputation.
Each year they massage and release rubbery attendance numbers to try and uphold its reputation and place when blind freddy can clearly see empty spaces on the lawn and stands.
Problem is they are a very old organisation,living in the past who dont want things to change because thats the way its always been done,even though it can be tweeked to improve it alot and take it to the next level but it will never get there.
Whats changed? not much really there are always issues with public transport.
They havnt moved with the times and innovated and got on the front foot and address issues, instead its a reactive organisation who wait for problems to happen then deal with them = lazy buggers.
If you want to progress then you have to analyze your way of doing business,processes and how you interact with all types of customers, that includes staff.
They show no respect and are a hypocritical organisation who dont follow their own principals and values but feel free to impose on others and think its fine not to communicate with a long serving staff member advising real issues how the place can be improved backed by work on the front line..
They are not leaders but followers even the major sponsors and members are dropping off like dead flies,are out of touch with customer base because they continue with a snobby exclusive attitude (living in the past)which is disrespectful and non caring and so old school, its not the 1980's anymore.

There are other organisations and clubs who treat people with more respect and offer more options for the spare disctretionary dollar spend customers might have as the economy and wages are flatlining and these places actually care about their customers and staff, listern and communicate with them..
They have forgotten they are in the service business with vast competition and they fail to communicate = lost business and they just dont give a toss about anyone its a sad sad place.
Their carnival(which should be 3 days) with reduced races each day( like royal ascot) filled with quality group or listed runners rather than races with some hack runners to make up the numbers.
.They dont value loyalty long service staff give them and the staff have been paid poorly for decades and now they build a cheap ugly looking stand which will date and be mostly empty all year round a white elephant as all the major events are stiched up at other places.
They dont promote and rotate staff into areas even though one has relevant experience.I expressed an interest in vacant role had lots of exp in that work area and never got acknowledgement my cv (resume) received even though sent multiple times to various persons as no one takes responsibility in the organisation and bothers to communicate.
They are a do nothing club standing still whilst other clubs are miles ahead with far better facilities and more enjoyable experience and treatment of everyone.
As a staff member you dont really feel like you have their support its all about them making sure they hold their positions and long shifts, and you get easiliy dispoosed off if you challenge the status quo, Its now just an outdoor nightclub seems like no resp serving alcohol plus lost lots of good staff for no real reasons other than rostering who dont like persons and serve up rubbish food to remaining staff.
Everyone in and associated with rostering of staff are no good ,do too much damage dont think or care about a persons well being and they have no mental health or oh & s awareness in and outside the workplace,talk is cheap action is what really matters,so they should have NO involvement with staff rostering or employment.
Its a do nothing non caring raceclub,they only think and care about themselves and dont give a toss about everyone else and the industry cause 'they're the Very ordinary RaceClub
Also its not a safe workplace,I had an acciddent there they never cared or enquired about
my welfare after I had the accident even though I completed a incident report form on the day.
Its also not a good place well equipped to assist and care for mobility impaired personsto get around in case you are thinking of taking someone there.
Some of the buildings are not well suited to cater for the large crowds that might attend
They have a whole year to plan for just 4 days work which produces over 80% of income and cant seem to get it right and they think they are the best they are far from it,keep dreaming cause one day they will wake up stop dreaming and smell their own roses.
I'd have more fun and enjoyment at a picnic meeting and feel much safer.
