Now, I have clearly confused my self. In the last post the fish I said was a Dolly Varden was not and was probably a Pink Salmon tat had not yet grown it's hump.. This little beauty is the Dolly. Also caught using a fake salmon egg.
A Sockeye Salmon held by one of the terrific guides. This fish is slowly rotting away
More places to fly to
Arriving at another camp for a night out. This was going to be a salmon day and was our last of the trip.
The lake we landed on; the previous 4 going home; leaving us newbies to muster the energy to climb up the hill and down the other side. Oh, poor me; the staff carried everything and even this ol fart found it a doddle. And there was arvo fishing to come.
Boats were already at the ready. These ones had terrific holders for the fly rods
By far my best Silver of the trip caught on the last day but was released because my quota was filled.
Held by another terrific quide.
Arriving back at the camp on that last day
A last look up the river before some newbies took over. It was sad to confess that we had caught all the salmon around.
Accommodation turned out to be very comfortable and warm. Just tricky finding the tent after a red or five.
After our dinner in the main tent and we had retired to our tent area we were treated to the sight of two arctic foxes who came looking for food, right up to the main tent doorway
Beaver motels like this were a common sight on the rivers. Coming from a building background however, I did think that the building regs needed some refinement. We did spot a few of the furry little ctitters
