The first sleep out camp and the reds were already flowing. I understand the tents and gear stay here all year. Boats and motors etc are brought in n out on the float plane's floats

From memory, a Dolly Varden - part of the Char family. caught using a small float and a small orange plastic bead that resembles a salmon egg drifting/rushing down the river. I called them Dolly Partons as they gave me goose bumps the size of....

My first ever Silver Salmon or Coho. Caught on a pink streamer fly. The guide said I could use any sort of fly as long as it was pink, pink or pink. Just once put my pinkie finger over the side and still have the lacerations to prove it.
The fillets of this beauty are in my freezer at Hervey Bay. The authorities kindly allowed me to bring in 5kg of skinned fillets. Generous sods.

A Pink Salmon, also known as a Humpy. Lived to regret it's erring ways.

A good sized Rainbow trout. So very slippery I struggled to get a photo showing the real size. All trout lived to fight another day. In the right areas (shallow rapids), you could catch these all day. And we generally caught them on a nymph hung under a float. Can't tell you how many rocks I caught but failed to land.

Off to another lake destination which was so fog bound we had to divert to another destination

The Bristol Bay Lodge. Just doing some googling and found a news article about a plane from this lodgecrashed in 2009 and killing all aboard. On board was a senior advisor to Pres Clinton and a member of the Myer family from Oz.
Glad I only just found it.

Airborne again for another day. Rivers and creeks everywhere dealing with the still melting ice. I imagine most of all never get fished except by the bears IMG_2357.JPG
