What Ardent need re DW, is either a new, well heeled partner to help it take the entire complex park/future resort/future village to the "next level" or exit and let someone LIKE a Disney/Chinese or someone in, who's prepared to do it.
The TRUTH is, DW's marked time [ie, gone backwards] for 10-20yrs, the sad events of last year, simply turned the spotlight on to it and have put the park "into the corner" and to be blunt, it really hasn't got a lot of punching power.
With the closure of Thunder-river Rapids an ENTIRE themed area of the park now looks like a wasteland - previously for YEARS half the entire area looked like a wasteland, when they closed the Goldmine Mouse Coaster and they were happy to project that image for years!!!!
Seriously, take a trip to Anaheim to Disneyland, then come back and stroll around DW....yeah I know different scale markets...but seriously it's the 21StC and DW is looking embarrassing....in the 80's and early 90's it really tried and then the accountants took over.
The Chinese are going to come in the millions to the Gold Coast, it's going to go to a new level....today, DW isn't even in the race and more and more people are voting with their feet.
BIG Mega-Attractions are in the pipeline for the SE Qld Region......come-on DW you owe it to yourselfto "step-up"!
First Step....get some PRIDE, bring BACK the "Dreamworld Is Happening" campaign, the one John Longhurst used, all those years ago and set a plan to make the next decade a plan to return the park to a true world-class Theme Park.
Dreamworld is Happening MADE the park, I don't even know what their current "slogan" is!
