"When do we rally in front of the ASX. Why is no political party taking up the issue. Imagine how many votes they would get."
there would be bugger all votes in it.
Most people have never heard of hst nor algorithmic trading.
Most stockmarket voters have left yonks ago and couldn't care less.
There is no political mileage in it - they all would prefer to concentrate on a few boatpeople, ir, carbon, cable rollouts and a whole variety of other useless emotional crap.
Whilst I do agree it should be investigated - you can forget politicians getting behind it unless you lose a major company or 2 with huge job losses directly due to hst.
Look at how we think - a few days ago industry funds were calling for government to release Govt. assets for sale - so funds would have something to invest in - their basis for this argument was so the Govt. would raise money for new infrastructure - nice of them to think of us.
These are the same industry funds who have sold our assets to overseas interests - anything they can sell for a quick profit is fair game - and now they have not many assets to sell off - they are whining - they just happen to overlook that it was them in fact who sold them.
Don't miss the point - no one gives a rats bum unless it effects them directly - and how many people in aust do you think hst effects? ------------- very few.
